Products that I am Currently Using:
- GoDaddy.com Domain Name – This is the place I went to register my website names (ex. onlinessuccessin100days.com). You should be able to get them for only $7.49.
- Host Gator.com – This is where you can go to find a place to host your website. It’s less than $10 a month and I think the first month might even be $1.
- WordPress – This is a FREE blogging platform that anyone can use as his or her own. It is the CMS (content management system) of choice by many, many people. It is one of the simplest ways to make a website. It has so many programmers and developers working on it that have developed different aspects of it that WordPress can be used for virtually any type of site from a simple blog, to e-commerce, to a company website. And, like I said, it’s 100% free. There’s a great video that I just watched about how to set up a blog on your own site. Once you have a domain name and a hosting account (see above for links) you can watch this video to see how to set up a blog. It’s by StomperNet’s Sherman Hu: Blogging For Beginners
- AWeber.com – This is a great place to get the program that allows you capture your audience’s e-mail addresses so that you can stay in contact with them through a newsletter. It allows you to schedule when e-mails go out and helps you keep track of your subscribers. I have learned that is one of THE most necessary pieces of the internet marketing puzzle! They let you have your first month for only $1 too!
Social Media Tools:
Tweet Deck – Tweet Deck is a program that allows you to filter the people you are following on Twitter into groups. For example, you can put all of the markers that you are following in one group, all your friends and family in a different group, and everyone else in a separate group. This allows you not miss the people’s Tweets that you really care want to catch while still browsing through other ones. You can write new messages, RT messages, and even do direct messaging (DM) right from Tweet Deck without even having to have your internet browser open!
UserNameCheck – It’s a quick and easy way to test the availability of a username on several Social Media Sites without having to go them all individually.
Socialoomph – This tool allows you automatically send out DM responses to everyone who follows you on Twitter. You can also schedule messages and track useful information too.
SamePoint.com – This is a search engine that is apparently better to search conversations that are happening across social media platforms. If I remember correctly this is because it searches dynamically generated pages, meaning pages that are created when somebody sends you a comment on facebook or similar things whereas other search engines don’t pick up (index) these pages. I have only played with it a bit but I wanted to make sure you guys got your hands on it. Let me know what you find. You can actually get an RSS of this stuff to your browser or wherever you read your RSS so you can keep tabs on information easier.
SEO Tools:
- Google’s Keyword Tool – This is one of the best tools for doing keyword research. It has statistical analysis which includes how many times a word has been clicked and many other useful things.
More tools to come later! And for more categories!
