THE SITUATION

Last week I decided that I had had enough of my financial situation. If I heard about one more teenager or twenty-something year old that was a multi-millionaire I was going to explode!!! I don’t hate people with money by any means, I just know that if they can do it I can do it too. And I wasn’t doing anything!

I’m a 23-year-old guy who lives at home with mommy and daddy and have more credit card debt than is reasonable for my age. I have two part time jobs, waiting tables at a restaurant and doing data entry from my house. I drive a green mini-van that my grandparents bought me because the van I was driving looked so trashy they couldn’t stand it. I dropped out of college a few years back and have since been bouncing around from business idea to business idea trying to get one of them to work. So far the things that I have tried have failed or haven’t even gotten off the ground in the first place.

But last week I decided ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!

THE IDEA

On Friday of last week I was talking to my friend Jason who happened to mention that there were about 100 days left in the calendar year and that he was going to set himself some business goals for the final sprint of the year.

So I started thinking… and thinking… and thinking. I decided I was in! The last 100 days of the year will be my sprint to freedom. In 100 days I want to be debt free, job free, and moving on towards total financial independence!

I have decided to put myself in a crash course of internet marketing – something I currently know virtually nothing about. I have only been studying internet marketing for literally about a week with the exception of one program that I bought which I haven’t even gone through even 25% of yet.

Now of course, I AM NOT ALREADY WEALTHY! I do not have thousands and thousands of dollars to buy up course after course in marketing. I was not born with a silver spoon in my mouth and I don’t have money I can just go and borrow. In fact, I just put a stop on all my credit cards so that I can’t use them anymore! I am just your average 23-year-old kid. Except that I have a dream of being free…

THE ADVENTURE

As I learn internet marketing I will be chronicling IN DETAIL everything that I do that is internet marketing related. I will list the resources that I listened to, watched, read, followed, etc. so that anyone that wants to can do the same things as me and see that I am not making this up!

I will be marketing two things. Firstly a website design / marketing company – I recently set up an LLC and am partnering with a few guys that know how to build websites (because I have no idea how). The website should be up and running in two weeks or so, God-willing.  Secondly, I will market this blog itself. I want to gain support and put extra pressure on myself so that I can’t squirm my way out of getting this done, and maybe even make a little cash here, too. By marketing both of these, if I am successful, I will have proved that these marketing techniques work for a company or just for an individual. Whether you have just a blog or you have a fancy website, I am thinking that the same principles are going to apply.

THE WHY

1) For Cash: I am sick and tired of my lame financial situation. God has blessed me with so many things and with so much opportunity that I think it would be wrong of me to not utilize the opportunity so that I can help those who are less fortunate both in my own country and abroad.

2) For a Challenge: Putting this up for the world to see ups the ante. Honestly, this idea scares the you-know-what out of me because of the chance that I could fail miserably and fall flat on my face! But on the flip side, if I succeed, the success will be that much more worth it!

3) For You: I know that there are other people out there just like I am right now. There are other people that have been tinkering with this and have maybe even failed at some of the ventures they’ve tried. I am doing this to prove that you can do it too.
